Talal Derki Master Class

Filmmaking in war zones 

Talal Derki, the multiple time Sundance-winner and Academy Award-nominated director (creator of Return to Homes and Of Fathers and Sons) is not only a member of the Budapest International Documentary Festival 2020‘s international jury, but also gives a Master Class under the title Filmmaking in war zones.

Prior to the Master Class, we are screening the following films as part of the festival’s official competition programme:

The two films are similar in their contents, and are closely related to the topic of the Master Class. We would advise you to watch at least one of the two before coming to the Master Class.

The language of the Master Class is English, however, simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Participation at the Master Class is free.
